KISS Rugby Academy were crowned champions in the 5th All-India Women`s Rugby 7s Tournament, which concluded at Kalinga Stadium here today. In the final, KISS beat defending champions Pune Gymkhana 12-10.
Earlier in the semifinals, KISS blanked Jungle Crows (Kolkata) 17-0, while Pune Gymkhana defeated Delhi Hurricanes 5-0. Altogether 15 teams participated in the two-day tournament, which was hosted by Odisha Rugby Football Assocition.
International woman hurdler Anuradha Biswal gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing function. ORFA president Priyadarshi Mishra and secretary U K Mohanty were present on the occasion.
